Prayers of the Heart

We wish we could say our journey is getting easier, but the nature of Paisley's case is complicated, with many ups and downs. This past week has been difficult, and we watched Paisley's condition slowly worsen. She was put back on the ventilator because she needed additional support as her lungs bear the brunt of a sick heart.

Our family is split between home, the hospital, work, and the Ronald McDonald House. We are in a constant tug of war to be present and available for our babies, and it's often Paisley's condition that day that determines our whereabouts.

Paisley is having heart surgery on Wednesday. The cardiac surgeon will be placing a band around the pulmonary artery which should reduce the stress caused by the large holes in her heart. Eventually she will need open heart surgery, but right now she is too delicate. We are hopeful that Paisley will be the fighter we have known her to be, and we are so proud of all she has accomplished! Please remember us in your prayers this week. We are praying for the wisdom of her medical team and healing for her beautiful heart.

"I don't care if your 5 or 105, God, from all eternity, chose you to be where you are at this time in history, to change the world."

-Mother Angelica
